Founding Director, Mrs. Rouhama Garelick has been a leader of innovative educational practices for the past 40 years. Early in her educational career, Mrs. Garelick identified an unmet need in the education community. Many educators did not have the resources and materials they needed in order to effectively reach all their students.
With that in mind, Mrs. Garelick started the first makeshift Teachers Center in her basement. It was a centralized location where Chicago educators were mentored, coached, and had free access to materials and curricula that she created. Together with Dr. Joseph and Elizabeth Walder, Mrs. Garelick has now brought Walder Education into classrooms across the globe and enhanced Jewish education.
Mrs. Garelick’s educational career has brought her into classrooms as an educator, principal, and supervisor. Her goal is to ensure that every student is given the tools they need to succeed.
