Students will enjoy creating a tree on a glass plate using the action painting technique, where paint is randomly dribbled, splashed, flicked and poured onto the plate. They will set goals and create artwork that is meaningful and has purpose to them and their families. This plate can be used to serve fruit which comes from trees since Tu B’shevat is the birthday for the trees.

Goals and Objectives: Students will learn that TuB’shvat reminds us that in order for man to be a healthy tree, it needs strong Jewish roots. On Tu B’shevat students will discuss with their families to pray for the trees to produce the good fruits of the Jewish nation.

  • Glass plate (dollar store)
  • Acrylic paint (We used metallic gold, red, yellow, brown and various shades of green)
  • Water
  • Plastic cups
  • Craft sticks
  • Paint brushes
  • Gloves
  • Plastic tablecloth or thick garbage bag
