This project was designed so that children as young as 2 and 3 can feel a sense of accomplishment and pride as they decorate their homes for Shavuos with a beautiful flower garland.

Goals and Objectives:

The students will create a lovely flower garland to decorate their homes for Shavuos, as they reinforce their anticipation for Shavuos and strengthen their coloring, stringing skills, and patterning skills.

Skills Needed: Students need to have pincer skills, the ability to hold a crayon or marker with the tripod grip, to scribble, and to string large beads.
Skills Developed: Students will develop their coloring, stringing, and patterning skills.

  • Transparencies or extra laminate
  • Flower die cut or use flower template, enclosed

  • Large, early childhood crayons
  • Large, colorful beads, enough for students to each have the amount that is appropriate for the students’ developmental ability
