Goals and Objectives: Students will learn about the Halacha of not wearing leather shoes on Yom Kippur as they create these colorful and wearable sandals.
Skills Needed: Ability to focus on task, and follow instructions.
Skills Developed: Students will develop their fine motorskills such as dexterity of hand, small muscle control, eye-hand coordination. They will improve their ability to focus on task, and reinforce their patterning and designing skills, while creating artwork that has deep meaning and purpose.

 

 
  • Coffee Stirrers (We used 6” straws, but the length depends on size of the students’ feet)
  • Glitter Flowers (non-adhesive)
  • Glitter Foam Sheet (we cut 2 straps of 7”x1.5”)
  • Cardboard (2 - 8.5”x11”)
  • Black Marker
  • Scissors
  • Tacky Glue
