Goals and Objectives: Immediately after Pesach, students will explore and experiment with the string and balloonart techniquetocreate “Har Sinai” and use it to count Sefiras Haomer each day until Shavuos. Students will learn that we count up 49 days from the second night of Pesach to Shavuos, and that Hashem decorated Har Sinai with greenery in honor of Matan Torah.
Skills Needed: Students need pincer skills and understanding of the concept of one-to-one correspondence.
Skills Developed: Students will develop dexterity of hand, eye-hand coordination, visual perception, spatial discrimination, goal-setting behaviors, planning behavior, problem-solving skills, an ability to focus on details and follow instructions, perseverance, cognitive flexibility, self-regulation, executive functioning, one-to-one correspondence, counting to 50,  temporal concepts, delayed gratification, and feelings of competence, while creating artwork that is meaningful and has purpose.
