Food Decay in Parshas Mikeitz
Item Number: CRBER13-RS020
Date Submitted: 05/09/2014
After interpreting Pharaoh's dreams, Yosef was put in charge of the collection and food storage during the seven years of plenty. Yosef had to have knowledge of food preservation to ensure that the food would not spoil until the seven years of famine. Let's do an experiment to find out what Yosef knew about keeping the stored food from getting rotten. Students will place beans in four separate resealable bags, and keep them under different conditions for a week and monitor the results to determine under which conditions the beans were best preserved.
