In many classrooms the phrase, which literally means “This is the finger of G-d” (Shemos 8:15), helps students to remember to keep their fingers on the place inside the text they are learning. Though the quote was originally proclaimed by the necromancers to Pharaoh to show that only Hashem can perform the Plague of Lice, teachers use it as a hint and reminder of how Hashem values their learning.
