Students will proudly use this Etched Glass Besamim Jar at the conclusion of Shabbos. They will familiarize themselves with the concept that we smell besamim (spices) in order to comfort the soul, which is saddened by the departure of the neshamah yeseirah (the additional soul) that it received on Shabbos. They will also learn proper hand control and spatial discrimination while creating this stunning Besamim Jar. Note: Some materials included in this art activity are not safe for students to handle independently. Please have your students create this project only with close and careful adult supervision. We are available to consult with you on age-appropriate modifications or on alternative projects.
