This hand-made, woven Tishah B’av Mat will provide children with a place to sit while mourning the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash on Tishah B’av. This project will also strengthen students’ fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.

Goals and Objectives:

When students learn about the laws of mourning for the Beis Hamikdash they can create a mat to sit on Tishah B’av. The students will also learn the weaving technique while they strengthen fine motor and patterning skills.

Fine motor skills, Visual spatial skills, Weaving

Skills Developed:

Use different color yarn and basic weaving techniques to express your creative side while creating your own design weave.
