This interactive felt board activity enables students to set up and design a sukkah that is uniquely their own, using the knowledge they have learned about what constitutes a kosher sukkah. A variety of sukkah decorations and holiday items are provided to allow for maximum use of the student’s imagination and creativity.

Goals and Objectives: The student will reinforce his knowledge of the halachos of Sukkos as he chooses from a variety of felt and felt backed pictures in order to set up and decorate a sukkah on the felt board.
Skills Needed: Fine motor skills
Skills Developed: The student will develop his creativity, imagination, planning behavior, visual and spatial discrimination, fine motor skills, hand eye-coordination and control, spatial awareness, figure-ground discrimination, and problem solving skills.

  • 2 legal size folders (9”x14”)
  • Felt in turquoise or color of choice for felt board background approx. 28”x15”
  • Glue stick
  • 3M double sided tape #469
  • Scissors
  • Laminate
  • Tacky glue

 

For Sukkah and Decorations

  • beige felt 3 sheets 9” x12” or equivalent
  • I brown medium felt tip marker
  • 12” ruler
  • Brown felt 1 sheet 9”x12” or equivalent
  • Dark green felt 1 sheet 9”x12” or equivalent
  • Medium or light green felt I sheet 9”x12” or equivalent
  • White felt 5”x9’ inch piece
  • Yellow felt 3”x 3” piece
  • Purple felt 6”x7” piece
  • Small pieces (about 3”x3” if using die cuts) of various colors of felt for sukkah decorations.
  • Scissors
