Goals and Objectives: Students will sift through the sensory material to find the correct count of each Yom Tov symbol. They will then match the pictures to the ones on the mat and count as they place each picture.
Skills Needed: Fine motor, rote counting
Skills Developed: Students will develop their comparison skills, counting skills, matching skills, eye-hand coordination skills, one-to-one correspondence and their sensory integration skills.

  • Yom Tov Symbol Pictures (included)
  • 8.5’’x11’’ adhesive foam paper
  • Plastic bin with lid
  • Sensory material such as colored rice/sand/beans/popcorn kernels etc.
  • Optional: children’s tweezers, scoopers, or other instrument can be used to take pictures out of the sensory bin.
